ith the fall of Byzantium, refugees from the eastern empire settled throughout western Europe. They kept the traditions and history of the East from disappearing.

On this website you will see many terms that will seem strange. That is because the Order follows the Eastern church's religious tradition which uses Greek or Eastern catholic church terminology.

Today, the Order embraces Christians of any church (Roman Catholic, Armenian, Greek Orthodox, Lutheran, Calvinist, Methodist, etc.) but we still retain the Eastern terminology at the request of the Prince Grand Master.

The Order of Saint Eugene of Trebizond is a truly international and world-wide organization of chivalry and knighthood.
